COMMUNITY

Armadale Home Help is an active community services group, and as such we encourage community involvement and support. No matter what age or situation you're in - you could find care and support from our community centre. Our goal is simple - providing quality care and support for older Australians.

We all hope we can be healthy and independent for as long as possible, but sometimes an illness or accident may mean that we need someone to care for us. Armadale Home Help is all about supporting people to continue living in their own home.

AHH is a Not for Profit, Charitable Organisation Established in 1984. Our role in the community is to ensure that people are serviced locally by locals where ever possible. We support local enterprise and our intention is to link locals with local events. Investing in our local community is an important priority and we do this by employing locally and investing in training for our staff and volunteers.

Capacity building is also based in the local area. Remaining flexible in our approach to delivery of services and our local knowledge ensures that we are efficient in travel and access to other resources. We endeavor to work in partnership with other local groups to ensure the richness and variety of our local community.

VOLUNTEERS

Our Volunteers and Staff are all Police screened and have specialised training. Most have Senior First Aid certificates and are briefed on all aspects of Occupational, Health and Safety. Confidentiality is required and maintained when dealing with all aspects of our Clients assessment and support services

If you wish to assist, you are invited to attend a Volunteer's interview where a Coordinator of Volunteers matches individual abilities to the duties available. This coordinator's knowledge of other organizations also seeking volunteers, ensures that you will be referred to a suitable place if no positions are currently available at AHH.

The kinds of duties range from helping with outings, to shopping, to gardening, etc and we are always seeking drivers and handy men.
