COMMON QUESTIONS

What if I need help to stay in my own home?

We can arrange this for you through the Home and Community Care (HACC) services funded by the State and Commonwealth Governments.

The vast majority of older Australians live independently in their own homes. But, as some people get older, they may find it easier to stay in their own homes with a little help. We at Armadale Home Help have programmes and provide services and care for frail older people and people with disabilities living at home, and their carers.

Our Aged Care Assessment team will involve you and your carer in an assessment on the level of care you will need and wether you will be able to continue living at home with extra services.

What kinds of services are available through HACC?

The range of services include home help, transport, food services, home maintenance gardening, social support, personal care and respite care, see the SERVICE page for more detail.

If I am a Carer, how do I arrange for a break?

Caring for someone full time is physically and emotionally demanding, so the Government has provided a range of services to better support carers. Please see our SERVICE page that details the types of service available for you.

Are there fees for these services?

There are fees but they vary and these can be discussed with your Assessment Officer. Special arrangements can be made for those that can not afford a fee.
